The Cheesy Cow Company will be able to expand their business after being given funding of $15,000.
WOODSTOCK - A local downtown business has been given money to expand.
The Cheesy Cow Company's Head Cheesemonger, Wes Mazur, explains what the business will be getting.
"It's called the My Main Street, and it is second stream. So, it is technically called MMS 2.0, and we are excited to share that we have been approved for $15,000 in funding."
Mazur says they had to fill out an application to get the funding. He said a few people around the downtown core made them aware of the potential funding, so they took the time to gather the information and take the necessary steps to present their business. Mazur adds that the money will be used for a few different ideas.
"One is developing our website for better e-commerce, so allowing our customers to place online orders. Another big part of the money will be put towards building a custom mobile charcuterie and cheese bar."
Mazur says the mobile unit would be used to expand the business outside of the four walls and be able to participate in more festivals and other downtown events. Mazur adds they money will also help with mainstream advertising, which could mean seeing ads on the back of city buses in the future.
