Budget season is once again upon us. Woodstock City Council got an overview at their latest meeting.
WOODSTOCK - The latest Woodstock City Council meeting featured a brief overview of the 2025 operating budget.
Staff came to Council with the draft, and the proposed tax rate increase for the City portion of the property tax bill is 2.81 per cent, meaning an increase of $84.75 on the average single family detached household bill. If all of the additional requests being put forward are approved by Council the increase would move to 6.67 per cent.
Special budget meetings are scheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday. At the meetings staff from city departments will come to council and present their proposed budgets and answer any questions Council may have. It will be at the regular meeting on March 6th when the Police Board, Library Board and Art Gallery Advisory Board will present their budgets. Once the presentations are complete, Council will then have their final budget day on March 20th.
The special meetings will begin at 5 p.m. each day, and the public is encouraged to watch the meetings in person or online. You can find the proposed budget details on the city's website.
