"Come to the Crossroads" That's the new slogan for economic development in Woodstock. A rebranding has been done, including a new website - Cometothecrossroads.com, that hilights the advantages of doing business in Woodstock. Development Officer Brad Hammond says the "Crossroads" theme was developed from asking local companies what makes the city a good place to do business. "Companies we've had dealings with in the past, we asked them what they thought about Woodstock. The one overwhelming message that came back is that our greatest strength is that we're at the crossroads of Highways 401 and 403." Hammond also says the early feedback has been positive. "Ya, we're very pleased with the website. We were able to use a local company to do the work, A-Z Group, that's done a fair bit of work for us in the past. So it's great to be able to get that work locally and end up with a slick looking website." New to the economic development site, is a section dedicated to the Downtown. Woodstock is urging developers to invest in the downtown. A package of new incentives will be rolling out later this year, offering grants for facade improvements, and interest free loans for developers building new residential units downtown.
