Supervisor of Parks and Forestry Chris Kerns says the first tree will be planted on April 28th at Oliver Stephen's Public School.
"We're starting by planting a tree that encourages environmental awareness, and [starting] a campaign at the event to encourage conservation practices."
The main event starts the next day at Burgess Park. The group will meet at 181 Tamarack Bvld and plant from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The city has more than eight different species of trees will be planted.
Kerns added that participants should come prepared for hard work.
"We ask you to dress for the weather by wearing warm clothes, closed toed shoes, and if you could, bring a shovel and a bucket to help move the mulch if you have one."
Kerns says there will be a barbecue after, at the parks shop at Southside Park for those that attended the event.
Woodstock City Council thanks its Arbor day sponsors, Oxford Insta-Shade, and Easy Way.
