Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch is happy to see some restrictions lifted, noting some of the best medicine is fresh air and sunshine.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock is ready to open some outdoor amenities this weekend.
Starting on Saturday, residents will able to enjoy the following amenities with restrictions:
- Parks and recreational area
- Baseball diamonds
- Batting cages
- Soccer, football, and sports fields
- Tennis courts
- Basketball courts
- Skate/BMX park
- Frisbee golf
- Cycling tracks and bike trails
- Playgrounds
- Boat and watercraft launches
Woodstock City Council had previously asked the Province to consider reopening these amenities with a letter sent to the Premier and local MPP Ernie Hardeman two weeks ago. Mayor Trevor Birtch says this is welcoming news.
"We have heard for years from parents and grandparents that some of the best medicine is fresh air and sunshine, so it is very good that the Province has lifted some of these restrictions. Now it doesn't open everything up completely and there will be some limits on how many can be out."
