A close call for a motorist Thursday. A vehicle travelling southbound on Wilson Street in Woodstock stalled on the railway tracks around 5pm as an eastbound freight train was approaching. The woman that was driving removed two children from the car, around 8 and 14 years old, and backed well away from the tracks. The train collided with the car, destroying it. The only other damage was to the Railway crossing arm which was broken off. The road was closed down for approximately 3 hours while the vehicle was removed and repairs were made to the stop arm. No charges are pending in this incident.
