Closing The Doors at Gallery Cinemas Once Again

The movie Theatre opened up again on August 10th after 5 month hiatus caused by the pandemic. Two weeks after reopening, Gallery Cinemas in Woodstock is closing down again.

WOODSTOCK - After opening for a couple of weeks, Gallery Cinemas has temporarily closed once again because of the pandemic.

The theatre officially reopened on August 10th after a 5 month hiatus. Since the theatre has reopened, it became clear to the owners that many of their patrons still were not comfortable returning to the cinema just yet.

They made the announcement on Sunday on Facebook with the following message:

"To all our patrons that joined us for our recent re-opening, we thank you for your support as we returned from a 5 month hiatus.
Unfortunately, it became apparent during this re-opening that many of our patrons were still not comfortable in returning to the cinema during the continuing Covid-19 pandemic.

Therefore, we will be closing our cinema on Sunday August 23rd after our evening shows.


Although we do not have a re-opening date as yet, we will continue to evaluate attendance patterns in the industry and the availability of new first-run product to fill our screens to determine when it is appropriate to invite patrons to join us again for the movie-going experience.
