A 64-year-old Woodstock woman is facing a charge after a collision in the city.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police have laid a charge after a collision in the City.
Yesterday, first responders attended the intersection of Dundas and Clarke Streets, where a minivan and a black car were reported to have collided. The investigation revealed that a 64-year-old Woodstock woman was driving the minivan and attempted to make a lane change on Dundas Street. She was in the curb lane and tried to move into the centre lane, which caused the black car to make an evasive maneuver and collide with the traffic light standard. After the collision, the black car went up in flames, but the fire was put out with quick action from citizens and emergency crews.
Despite heavy damage to the black car, no injuries were reported.
The 64-year-old has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of making an unsafe lane change.
