Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey is the newest member of the Southwestern Public Health Board
OXFORD COUNTY - Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey will be joining the Southwestern Public Health Board.
He was appointed to the position during last week's County Council meeting and his orientation will be taking place this morning.
Comiskey says he's looking forward to contributing to the monthly meetings and regular briefings.
"We're going through some very tough times right now and so the Southwestern Public Health Board is going to be very active with what's going on. I'd like to be there and I'd like to participate and help wherever I can."
He says we can't let our guard down in the fight against COVID-19.
"This is not over. We know that vaccines will be coming forward over the next month but the virus is still out there. We must keep the numbers down so that all of our front line workers can deal with the numbers that are coming forward."
Comiskey is taking City/County Councillor Sandra Talbot's place on the board. She stepped down a couple weeks ago after it was revealed that she vacationed in the Caribbean over the holidays.
