WOODSTOCK - The Community Free table is in desperate need for donations of warm blankets and winter clothing.
The Community Free Table is set up every Saturday between 11:30 am to 1:00 pm (Corner of Wellington & Dundas St.). They usually serve around 80 people every week and a lot of wonderful volunteers work really hard to make this happen. You can bring the warm clothing items or blankets to the Community Free Table this Saturday and organizer Chris Eby will hand them out to those in need as they stop by to grab something to eat. You can also donate the items to Operation Sharing.
With the extreme cold weather alert, the need for warm clothing donations is blankets is very high to help out the less fortunate in our community. Homeless people in Woodstock can spend the night at the Inn, however they are usually out on the streets during the day and daytime temperatures right now are reaching the teens when you factor in the wind chill.
