Officials say the construction should last about five to seven weeks.
SALFORD - Construction is about to get underway at the Waste Management Facility in Salford.
Starting today, crews will replace the inbound scale with a new 80-foot model to allow for larger vehicles.
The County says this should take about five to seven weeks to install and all vehicles will have to share a single scale for entry and exit during that time. There will be additional gates and flag people to help manage the traffic slow, but you could still experience delays so make sure you plan accordingly.
This scale replacement is phase two of a site improvement project for the landfill. Phase one took place in 2022 and it added a new scale house and an second scale for outbound traffic.
The County weighs vehicles at the landfill for reporting and monitoring purposes. You can find more information about the Oxford County Waste Management Facility online here.
