Nancy Demarest plans to focus on sustainability if re-elected.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Current Councillor and active member in Blandford-Blenheim Nancy Demarest will be running again this election.
As a chartered professional accountant she has worked over the last four years to create a culture of accountability in the township.
Demarest made good use of her time as councillor, serving as chair of the Habitat for Humanity build in Drumbo, and as vice chair of the Rural Oxford Economic Development Council.
"We've made some real headway over the last four years as a group to support rural business. Especially during COVID it was great to be a part of that and I think there was some very positive effects of the work that we were doing."
This election she plans to focus on a long-term strategic plan for sustainability, that encourages community engagement, while promoting diversity and fairness.
Demarest is thankful for the positivity received in her campaign so far from both new and previous supporters.
"I grew up in the Blandford-Blenheim community and I really care about its residents, so I think that uniquely positions me to continue to be an effective councillor in Blandford-Blenheim."
Oxford County goes to the polls on October 24.
