The four-storey apartment building on the corner of Southwood Way and Stonegate Drive will include 48 units, and half of them will be affordable housing units.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Non-Profit Housing Corporation will be building a four-storey apartment building on the corner of Southwood Way and Stonegate Drive.
Oxford County Council gave the greenlight to the project yesterday. Council approved the allocation of $1,384,096 from the Affordable Housing Reserve and up to $585,000 from the upcoming Ontario Priorities Housing Initiative.
The building will include 48 units, half of them will be affordable units and the other half will be market value.
Warden Larry Martin says it will be a while before we see shovels in the ground.
"It is quite a ways away I think. They're supposed to start in March of 2023 and hopefully people will be moving in by August of 2024 so it's an undertaking."
Those looking to move into the affordable units will have to apply through the Woodstock Non-Profit Housing Corporation and meet the necessary criteria.
