The plan includes five tourism-related goals and objectives for the next five years.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Council has approved a five-year Tourism Plan.
Warden Marcus Ryan explains what this means for the County.
"This tourism plan was about how to promote Oxford residents, but also people from around Ontario, and the world to be more aware of what we have to offer here in Oxford. Get them to come, and spend some money here, and make those businesses owned by those local residents thrive."
Oxford County continues to see an increase in tourism and Warden Ryan is ready to capitalize on that.
"One of the key findings in there was how much more money people spend when they come and stay overnight as opposed to a day trip. We are going to see our staff dig into the details to try and get more people to come to Oxford, stay overnight, and spend more money at our local businesses."
The plan would provide a clear direction with five goals and objectives through 2030.
