Zorra Township Mayor Marcus Ryan will ask his fellow County Council members to not support the Southwestern Landfill proposal during today's meeting.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is about to discuss the Southwestern Landfill proposal.
Zorra Township Mayor Marcus Ryan will bring forward a motion to County Council today, asking his fellow council members to not support the proposal.
It follows recent council resolutions by Zorra, Ingersoll, and South-West Oxford to exercise their power to refuse landfill development in their municipalities.
A letter from Walker Environmental to County Council says they will put the environmental assessment for the proposed landfill on hold, but are open to further discussions.
