The County of Brant Fire Department has received a $7,500 grant from Enbridge to complete hazardous materials preparedness training.
BRANT COUNTY - The County of Brant Fire Department has received a $7,500 grant from Enbridge to complete hazardous materials preparedness training.
Fire Chief Geoff Hayman says the grant will be put to good use.
“We are thankful Enbridge chose to support the County by awarding a Safe Community grant. This grant will allow us to provide instructors to deliver an enhanced hazardous materials preparedness training program. As well, we will purchase specialized equipment and supplies that will help us in the event of a hazardous materials release.”
Hayman says they will have 35 to 40 members of the fire department participating in the training.
“It is important that during an emergency we can quickly, safely and efficiently respond to hazards in our community.”
Community Engagement Specialist with Enbridge, Ken Hall says they off this grant to emergency services for safety equipment, professional training, and safety education programs.
“The safety of the communities remain our highest priority. We are proud to support the County of Brant Fire Department who help keep our community safe.”
