As many as 50 vehicles, including several transport trucks, collided in snowy conditions on the 401 in Woodstock today. But, despite the scene of twisted metal, drivers and passengers escaped with only minor injuries. As a result, the 401 Eastbound is closed from Foldens Line, or County Road 6 to Sweaburg Road. Emergency crews remain on scene, trying to clear the highway. OPP Constable Lisa Narancsik gave Heart FM an update just after 4PM. "They're just working on the last few vehicles for towing them out now. It's still completely closed. We're hoping to get the last of this cleared out within the next hour." Crews are also working on cleaning up a fuel spill, so there is no firm timeline as to when the highway might re-open. It has been closed for close to 5-hours now. (Noon-5PM)
