Woodstock Police are preaching lock it or lose during Crime Prevention week as we get ready for the busy holiday shopping season.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are recognizing Crime Prevention Week by reminding everyone to lock it or lose it.
As we enter the Christmas Season, more and more people will be out shopping in the Friendly City. Police are reminding everyone to keep any valuables out of plain site, keep your gifts in the trunk and always lock your vehicles.
A large majority of WPS calls for service in relation to vehicle entries, smashed vehicle windows or stolen vehicles involves unlocked doors or valuables or keys in the vehicle in plain view. Always remember to not leave anything in your vehicle – even things you do not see as “valuables” as value can be subjective. Ensure windows are closed tight and doors are locked – especially with holiday shopping season here.
