Grand River Occupational Health & Safety is hosting their first Curl for Safety event supporting Threads of Life.
WOODSTOCK - Grand River Occupational Health & Safety will be hosting their first ever Curl for Safety Charity Bonspiel.
Grand River Occupational Health & Safety are hosting their first Curl for Safety event in the new year for Threads of Life.
President of Grand River Occupational Health & Safety, Wes Mazur says the event is similar to their Golf Tournaments.
"The past few years we have been running the Swing for Safety charity Golf tournament at Woodstock Meadows for three successful years had a lot of fun raising money for a good cause, and we were thinking what do we do in the off season and as a supporter and being apart of the local Woodstock Curling Centre, I thought it would be great to have a Curl for Safety charity Bonspiel. So it's kind of like the golf tournament but it's a curling tournament, and this year we are going to support again Threads of Life which is an association for families of workplace tragedies."
The event will have a light lunch and full dinner, a Cash Bar, Raffle Prize Table, 50/50 Draw, and at least two 6-end draws.
Mazur says they need sponsors more than anything.
"We need Curlers but we are seeking sponsors whether they are individuals or businesses to help make the event possible. There are three sponsorship levels, we are seeking a gold level sponsor which is to really help sponsor the overall tournament, all kinds of awesome recognition, signage, social media shoutouts, profiles on social media, backlinks, logos on the website, we are also looking for dinner and lunch sponsors, and curling has four sheets of ice at the Woodstock Curling Centre, so we're looking for potential sponsors for the curling sheets as well, and again all proceeds will be going to the charities."
The cost to play per team is $300 with 4 players per team, a 5th player will be allowed, and it will be on February 22nd from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM.
You can sign up online on their website or call 519-267-8600.
