Hair Power in Woodstock will be cutting hair tomorrow with proceeds going towards cancer research at the Juravinski Clinic in Hamilton.
WOODSTOCK - Hair Power is teaming up with a local prostate cancer survivor to cut hair for cancer.
All of the proceeds from haircuts will be going to the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation. Jim Gallup says he first approached the idea for a fundraiser to the owners of Hairpower and they were happy to help.
"We are going to cut hair. Frank (Commisso) is the owner of Hair Power and he is going to cut hair and charge $25.00 for a haircut and all of that money goes to the prostate research at the Juravinski Clinic in Hamilton. I am a cancer survivor and I have hit the 5 and a half year mark, so I am pleased with that."
Gallup says he is thrilled that Hair Power agreed to do this fundraiser with him.
"I talked to Frank about fundraising for the cancer research. I wanted to give back to the Juravinski Clinic and what they did for me. I'm alive, I'm seeing my grandchildren grow up, they were really good at the clinic for my treatments."
The haircuts cost $25,00 and no appointment is needed. It runs tomorrow from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
