United Way Oxford is encouraging everyone to pay it forward today for the Day of Caring.
OXFORD COUNTY - United Way Oxford is lending a helping hand to local community organizations.
Resource Development Coordinator Mike Crabbe says today is their annual Day of Caring
"We find projects from not-for-profits across the community that need a little help. These are projects that can often slip through the cracks like painting or gardening. That way they can focus on the important work they do."
Crabbe says they have selected seven projects this year.
"We have DASO; we're going to be helping them with their gardens, Indwell; we're going to be helping the gardens for both Blossom Park and Harvey Woods, Big Brothers Big Sisters; they need a little refreshing of their paint in Ingersoll, the Ingersoll Services for Seniors, the Tillsonburg Community Gardens and United Way; it's been a while since we've had our gardens looked at as well."
Crabbe is also encouraging members of the community to show their local love today. It could be something as simple as holding the door open for someone, paying for someone else's order in a drive-thru, or making a donation to a local cause.
