Daylight Saving Time Ends on Sunday

The clocks will go back one hour early Sunday morning, as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end.

WOODSTOCK - We will have an extra hour of sleep over the weekend.

Daylight Saving Time will officially end at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday November 2nd, with the clocks going back one hour.

The Woodstock Fire Department is reminding everyone to check their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms while they're adjusting their clocks this weekend. Public Information Coordinator Lisa Woods says the batteries should be replaced.

"Remember your hardwired alarms do have a battery backup or they should have a battery backup. If they do not have a battery backup, it's more than likely that they are over 10 years old and need to be replaced."

She adds you can also clean them up a bit.

"You can actually take your vacuum and do a light vacuuming of those alarms to clear them of any dust, debris, or spiders that have made their way in."

Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week will also begin on Saturday November 2nd, and Woods will be talking about it on the Heart FM Morning Show on Tuesday November 4th. She will be joined by John Gignac, the founder of the Hawkins-Gignac Foundation for CO Education.
