A woman from Norwich Township is dead and one person is in custody after police received a tragic call on Monday afternoon.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP- Oxford OPP are investigating after a woman died at a business on Main Street West in Norwich.
OPP and EMS were called to the business on Monday afternoon.
The woman was initially attended to by the Norwich Fire Department and Oxford EMS and was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been identified as 32 year old Carolyn Dewit of Norwich Township. 33 year old William Knapp of Norwich was arrested at the scene in relation to the death investigation.
He has been charged with the following:
Causing Death By Criminal Negligence - contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Trafficking a Schedule 1 Substance - Other Drug(Fentanyl) - contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
He is being held in custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock on January 26, 2016 for a Bail Hearing.
