OPP want you to avoid blowing/shoveling snow onto the roadway when clearing out your driveway.
Oxford County was hit with another blast of winter with several centimetres of snow over the past 24 hours.
OPP are reminding residents to try and avoid blowing snow onto the road when you are clearing your driveway. Snow being blown onto the roadway can cause a dangerous driving situation and limit visibility for drivers.
These conditions can be especially dangerous when unsuspecting drivers have snow blown onto their windshield. Police have received reports from concerned drivers of motor vehicles advising that snow was directly blown onto their windshield resulting in zero visibility.
Constable Ed Sanchuk says due to the current weather and road conditions this could have potentially caused a serious or fatal collision.
"As you remove snow from your property, please make sure to aim the snow away from people, buildings, roadways, motor vehicles and pets. Any stones or ice ejected into the air has the potential to injure, damage windows or damage property."
