Phase 2 of drainage upgrades in Plattsville are set to begin this summer. County Council approved the hiring of Bel-Air Excavating & Grading Limited out of Cambridge to do the work. Phase 2 includes work on part of Albert Street and the south side of Oxford Road 8. Mayor Marion Wearn says Phase one of the drainage work was completed in 2007 and 2008. "It's been put off for a number of years, fixing the drains and they definitely need to be upgraded as the village as grown, the new subdivision and the age of the pipes." The $2.2 million dollar cost will be divided up amongst the County, the Township of Blandford Blenheim as well as residential property owners.
