TAVISTOCK - A 21 year old transport truck driver has been charged with careless driving after hitting a building in Tavistock.
Police say the tractor trailer hit a building at the intersection of Woodstock and Hope Street on Monday April 29th. The intersection is controlled by traffic lights.
Investigation revealed that a transport was attempting to turn south on to Woodstock Street from Hope Street and misjudged the corner, striking a building.
Nobody was injured and the driver from Calgary was charged with Careless Driving.
Police are minding tractor-trailer drivers to remember that they may need to proceed well into the intersection before beginning the turn. Generally, it is better to use more space from the road you are leaving than from the road you are entering. Use extreme caution and ensure the movement can be made safely.
