A local businessman says East-Zorra Tavistock Council needs fresh blood.
EAST-ZORRA TAVISTOCK - A Taekwondo school owner is now looking at politics.
Donald Edmiston is running for Deputy Mayor of East-Zorra Tavistock.
He says that being self employed gives him the chance to help his community.
"Because I'm self employed I have a lot of spare time so in order to deal with people I can meet at 10 in the morning, or 11 in the morning or 1 in the afternoon. I'm very flexable that way. To meet up with people that way. To meet up with people and deal with any issues that may come forth. So I think that's why I'm a great fit for the community Deputy Mayor position."
Edmiston explains that he will bring business experience and fresh blood to the table.
"I think a business sense is my key part. Keeping overhead low, that's always been my secret to success in business. And dealing with the problems, any issues immidiately so they don't drag on. The longer an issue drags on, the more it costs to fix the problem."
He would like to see more activities for youth to get them active outside.
