Education Minister Stephen Lecce says the province has filed a submission to the Ontario Labour Relations Board in response to the CUPE Strike.
ONTARIO - The education worker strike is officially underway in Oxford County and beyond.
Demonstrations are happening outside the Ontario Legislature and Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman's office in Woodstock. We will be sending a reporter to the Woodstock rally in order to provide you with more details.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce released the following statement this morning.
“Immediately following proclamation of the Keeping Students in Class Act, we filed a submission to the Ontario Labour Relations Board in response to CUPE’s illegal strike action. Proceedings started last night and will continue today. Nothing matters more right now than getting all students back in the classroom and we will use every tool available to us to do so.”
The legislation was passed yesterday, making the CUPE strike action illegal.
