Thanks to the generosity of Heart FM listeners, all kids in Oxford County are set to have a Merry Christmas. Today's 3rd annual Heart FM Toy Truck has raised an astounding amount of new toy donations, along with cash. But literally putting the truck in the Heart FM Toy Truck this year were CUPE local 4222 and 7575. The educational support workers showed up with a truck load of $5000 worth of new toys. President of 4222 Sharon Mannering told Heart FM, "This is our way of giving back to the community. We see the need in the schools every day and this is a way that our members, the support staff of the Thames Valley District School Board can give back to our communities." The unions represent custodians, maintenance workers, printers, technicians, warehouse workers, office and clerical workers, and Early Childhood workers with the Thames Valley School Board. Other generous donations came in this morning from the Oxwood Connections BNI, ResQTech, Bright Mixed Dart Group, and Leon's of Woodstock. We'll have the official announcement of the grand totals from the Toy Truck Drive on Monday morning.
