You might be able to spot four new electronic speed feedback signs if you're driving along Oxford Road 17 north of Woodstock.
OXFORD COUNTY - New electronic speed feedback signs have been installed on Oxford Road 17, just north of Woodstock.
Manager of Transportation and Waste Management Services Frank Gross says they conducted a road safety review found that speeding is an issue on that road.
"Based on the findings of that study, it did find that operating speeds were excessive in that area and this is a measure to hopefully bring some traffic calming."
The signs have been installed at the east and west limits of the 60km/hr zone approaching Oxford Rd. 59, as well as immediately east and west of the roundabout. Gross says the 60 km/hr speed limit has been extended.
"At the west end, the 60 km/hr zone actually extended west beyond the built up areas, so we are just adjusting the limits of that 60km zone to align with the group of houses or a settlement area, just west of Oxford Road 30."
Gross says about 15 to 20 electronic speed feedback signs have been installed throughout the County over the past few years and each sign costs about $5,000 each.
