The project is expected to be built in the spring of next year.
EMBRO - The Splash Pad in Embro is in the early stages of development.
The Splash Pad Committee is still finalizing a design and a location.
Mayor for the Township of Zorra Marcus Ryan says a specific location hasn't been determined.
"They have started fundraising, still very early stages for fundraising. The Township has already committed $75,000 from our capital budget for 2021 to the project, that's assuming that the other fundraising goals are met to cover the remainder of the costs of the project."
He says the committee is consulting with the community to figure out the best design and location for the project in order to generate excitement on it.
He adds the total cost of the project will come down to the final design and location.
Mayor Ryan says they're looking to follow a similar approach to the Thamesford Spray Pad and Skate Park when it was built a couple years ago.
"That committee hosted events. They also did a lot of individual, small donations from individual private residences and then a variety of larger donations from local businesses, including some very large donations from some developers in the Thamesford area."
The Splash Pad is expected to built in the spring of 2021.
