Woodstock Police, Fire and Oxford EMS were searching the waters of Pittock Sunday afternoon after reports of a person falling through the ice were called in. Police say shortly before 4:00 pm, they received a call from a concerned Chieftain Street resident that two people were walking across the ice of Pittock and one of them had fallen through. Emergency crews searched the area and approximately 20 minutes later located a male and female, both 17 years old walking in the campground. Neither of the youths had fallen through the ice and were unharmed. Police are asking the public to stay away from the local waterways and to stay off the ice with thawing temperatures approaching.
