Two of Woodstock's Police Officers have received the Exemplary Service Award for their 30 years of service. Sergeant Greg Fletcher and Canine Constable Wayne Sczepanski both stood proud as they were presented with this award. Sergeant Fletcher says it has been a quick, but gratifying journey. "It's gone by in a blink of an eye, I can't believe it's 30 years already. We moved to the Woodstock area when it formed with the Oxford community. It's been a great place to work and I've had lots of opportunities and I'm going to be happy to finish off my career here." Constable Sczepanski is proud of his achievement. "It's been just a tremendous 30 years of policing and I'm looking forward to a few more here before I retire. Everyday it's a challenge and I accept that challenge." Deputy Chief of Police Daryl Longworth says that these two are great role models for the younger officers. "To have these guys with 30 years of experience available to the younger officers is a great opportunity to the entire police service." Only those who demonstrate the exemplary characteristics receive this award even when they reach the 30 year milestone.
