A strike is underway outside of Fanshawe's Woodstock Oxford Regional Campus.
WOODSTOCK - Faculty Librarians and Counsellors have hit the picket lines outside of Fanshawe's Woodstock Oxford Regional Campus.
They're fighting for better pay for their part time employees. As of right now part time staff only get paid for the time they spend in the classroom, not the time they may spend at home grading papers or prepping classes.
Picket Captain Bette Rowe says they also want to create a better learning environment for students, giving them a say in what happens at the college.
"Our biggest concern is making sure that our Ontario students get a good quality education, that's what we're here for."
Rowe adds they have received a positive response from the community so far.
"We're getting lots of treats, lots of support from everyone and lots of cars going by honking to show their support as well."
Rowe says members of the College Employer Council have walked away from talks with OPSEU, so there is no end to this strike in sight.
