As of June 23rd, there are two candidates for City Councillor in Woodstock
WOODSTOCK -- Local business owner Owen Farrell has thrown his hat in the ring for City Council.
Farrell filed Monday (June 23rd) to run for one of four city councillor positions. "I think I have a lot to offer in the sense that again, I am an independent business owner and not that anybody on council has done anything completely wrong but I just feel that I have business sense that I can offer them."
When asked what the main issues for the next term of council would be, Farrell says for him the sale of Woodstock Hydro tops the list. "Not so much the sale of the Hydro but the monies that are coming to the City of Woodstock, just to make sure that they don't get wasted."
Farrell thought it was time that the City had someone on "council that was an actual business person" and decided it was time to get involved.
