Around 5:15pm Friday evening, there was a fatal accident on the 403. OPP officers responded to a two car collision around the Oak Park Rd exit just outside of Brantford. It involved a Toyota car that was traveling west bound on the 403 that crossed the grass median and struck an east bound Pontiac Wave. The driver of the Pontiac sustained non life threatening injuries and was transported to Brantford General Hospital. The driver of the Toyota succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The name of the deceased woman will be released upon next-of-kin notification. Police do not know why the driver crossed the median. They continue to investigate. The 403 east bound between Rest Acres Road and Oak Park Road was closed until about 1am Saturday morning as the investigation continues.
