Police say a 27 year old man blew through a red light causing the crash that claimed the life of a 50 year old woman from Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - A 50 year old woman from Woodstock has died following a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Main Street and Mill in Woodstock on Friday night.
Police and EMS rushed to the scene just before 10 pm after getting multiple 9-1-1 calls about the crash. Police arrived on scene and extracted the woman from her her vehicle, immediately performing CPR.
Karen Franklin was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation revealed that a 27 year old man from Woodstock blew through a red light at the intersection causing the collision. Police say the man was doing a high rate of speed. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing at this time with charges pending.
