A two vehicle crash has claimed the life of one driver in Perth East on Line 42. The area will be closed off for several hours for the investigation.
UPDATE: The deceased has been identified as 44 year old Jason Satchell of West Perth. The intersection remains closed as crews continue to repair the damaged hydro pole.
PERTH EAST - One male driver has died in hospital and a female driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a crash in Perth East.
The incident happened around 7a.m. this morning when the male driver of a minivan was travelling east on line 42 collided with an SUV traveling south on Road 122 north of Stratford.
Perth County OPP, Perth County Paramedics and Perth East Fire Department responded to the call. Collision Investigators remain on scene and have closed off Line 42 in between Road 122 and Road 125 as well as Road 122 in between Line 39 and Line 44 for several hours. Hydro crews are also on site to repair a damaged hydro pole.
The identities of the parties has not been released.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Perth County OPP.
