Fire at a Tillsonburg apartment building forced the evacuation of 40 residents this morning. Fire broke out in a unit on the ground floor of the 3-storey building on Lisgar Ave at around 2 o'clock this morning. Everyone made it out safely, without injury. Tillsonburg Fire extinguished the blaze. Norfolk County Fire, Oxford EMS, Union Gas, Tillsonburg Hydro and Public Works were all on hand as well assisting in the situation. Damage is estimated between $60,000-70,000. The Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate the cause.
