Almost all the candidates running in Oxford County will be at the Southgate Centre tonight.
WOODSTOCK - The first all candidates meeting for the federal election is happening tonight at the South Gate Centre in Woodstock.
Four of the candidates looking to represent Oxford will be attendance. They are Mike Farlow with the Green Party, Zoe Kunschner representing the NDP, Don Mckay for the Liberals, and Melody Aldred representing the Christian Heritage Party. Incumbent MP and Conservative candidate Dave Mackenzie will not be in attendance because of a previous engagement. Executive Director of the Social Planning Council Oxford Ashley Farrar tells Heart FM News what to expect.
"So we are going to open the evening with a panel of experts from our community, and they will be asking questions about food security, poverty, employment, affordable housing, and local data. And after those questions are answered we will open the floor to community members where they can ask their questions to the candidates."
The forum will be hosted by the social planning council, with the United Way Oxford, the South Gate Centre, Community Employment Centre, and Woodstock and Area Community Health Centre.
The all candidates meeting will run for two hours starting at 7 p.m.
