Paul Calandra becomes Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing
ONTARIO - Some major change ups in Premier Doug Ford's cabinet.
Steve Clark resigned from the job yesterday but will be staying on as the Conservative MPP for the Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes riding. Clark had been under fire after a report from the province's integrity commissioner stated that he violated ethics rules when Ontario opened up parts of the protected Greenbelt for development.
Hours after Clark's resignation announcement, Premier Ford announced a cabinet shuffle. He appointed Paul Calandra, the Minister of Long Term Care, to Clark's former position. Calandra will continue to serve as the Government House Leader, but Stan Cho will be taking over the long term care portfolio.
As someone who has given my life to serving the people through our democratic institutions, it is my responsibility to adhere to the principles of Ministerial accountability.
