The freedom convoy will hit our neck of the woods on Thursday starting in Windsor at 5:30 am and stopping in Drumbo at 10:00 AM.
The Freedom tractor trailer convoy will hit southwestern Ontario on Thursday.
This convoy is happening all across Canada as truckers head to Ottawa to protest the new mandate for cross border travel.
It requires Canadian truckers to be fully vaccinated if they want to avoid the 14-day quarantine period once they return from United States.
The convoy kicked off in B-C yesterday morning and it's expected to arrive in Ottawa on Saturday.
Locally the convoy will be in Southwestern Ontario on Thursday. Truckers plan to leave Windsor at 5:30 am and driving to Kingston for 5:00 p.m.
The convoy will be stopping at the Shell truck stop in Drumbo at 10:00 am.
Several people are also planning to cheer on the truckers at the Highway 401 overpass at Northumberland Road in Ayr. You will see people with Canadian flags and bright clothing. The trucks will likely hit that overpass shortly after 10 AM. The organizers are also trying to rally people to the overpasses in Aylmer, Woodstock and Ingersoll.
The convoy will definitely cause some issues for commuters on Thursday. So if you do plan to use the 401 E/B lanes to get to work. Expect delays. You can find where the trucks will be headed online here.
