OPP asking motorists to be extra vigilant and patient as traffic is expected to increase in Port Dover for Friday the 13th.
NORFOLK COUNTY - Despite the snow and very cold temperatures, Norfolk OPP are preparing for visitors in Port Dover for Friday the 13th festivities.
Police are asking motorists to be patient with the possibility of increased motorcycle traffic, according to Constable Ed Sanchuk.
There are no planned road closures in the area with the expected visitors to Port Dover however Sanchuk says police will close roads if required.
Police will be patrolling the area but are asking the motoring public to be prepared the possibility of snow covered roads. "We're encouraging everyone and urging everyone to make sure they check their mirrors frequently in order to be more aware of activity around their vehicle or motorcycle and this simple safety skill while driving will help to prevent unnecessary collisions and increase road safety for everyone."
Those planning on attending the festivities are encouraged to plan ahead and have a safe ride home if consuming alcohol or arrange for an overnight stay.
