Thanks to Loblaws and Tremblett’s Independent the Fusion Centre will be getting $5000 to help with their programs.
INGERSOLL - The Fusion Youth Centre is getting a big boost form Loblaws Canada.
Manager of the Youth Centre Jason Smith says their donation will be put towards a few different programs. "So it was $5 000 in partnership with Tremblett’s Independent out of Ingersoll and Loblaws Canada. And we recieved $5 000 dollars to put towards our Healthy Nutrition Program as well as Outdoor Recreation Programs."
Owners of Tremblett's Independant Rob and Jessi Tremblett say they can see how important it is that kids have access to the tools to build healthy lifestyles early on. Smith says help from local business is vital to keeping the centre going. "The other thing that's important to highlight is the importance of local business stepping up and helping the Centre out. We rely on those corporate donations, so very appreciative to Tremblett's Independent in Ingersoll and their community focus. We appreciate their support."
Smith tells us there is a lot of demand for the Centre's culinary programs. "Last year we actually put in a brand new kitchen and so part of that success of the program was to try and get some funding to be able to put food back into that program. We have a tremendous amount of youth that are interested in that program and involved."
Loblaw Companies has been giving annually to the Fusion Youth Centre since 2010. This year the funding will help teach kids about budgeting, preparing, cooking and cleaning. They will also be highlighting the importance of buying locally.
