The Norwich Merchants took game one of the Niagara Jr C West Division finals Sunday night in New Hamburg. The Merchants got on the scoreboard early, less than two minutes into the first period and held a 2-1 lead going into the second before New Hamburg tied it up 90 seconds into the period. But three unanswered goals gave the Merchants a 5-2 victory and an early lead in the best-of-seven series. Norwich is home for game two Wednesday night at the Nor-Del Arena. Puck drops at 7:30 pm.
