The money raised will provide less fortunate London Knights fans with the opportunity to attend a game.
LONDON - The Official London Knights Fan Group is hosting a golf tournament.
It is in partnership with Barkey's Buds and will take place Sunday, August 11th at Westminster Trails Golf Course in London.
President of the Fan Group, Sav Neth explains why the tournament is important.
"So, we stepped up and we are looking to provide families and kids that might have the opportunity to attend a game, and that is what we are raising money for. Last year, we were able to bring over 1,000 families."
He adds the Knights are not just a London team, they are a Southwestern Ontario team and many of the 3,000 members of the Facebook group are from Oxford County.
Neth mentions the details for registration for the golf tournament.
"It's $145, you will get golf, a cart, and a chicken dinner or vegetarian meal. You will get Knights swag, we will have some silent auction items, and that is what you will get out of it."
You can register by becoming a member of the fan group, or by checking out the Heart FM events page.
Barkey's Buds is a group that was put together with the help of current London Knight Denver Barkey, who was an underdog his whole career and told he would never make it. Barkey has since proved those people wrong as he has been drafted into the Philadelphia Flyers organization in the National Hockey League.
