The finishing touches are being done at the brand new Goodwill Store in Woodstock should open on March 4th.
WOODSTOCK - The three Goodwill stores in Oxford County are still operational and accepting donations after news of recent closures.
16 Goodwill stores in the GTA are going to shut down, however none of the locations in our region will be impacted. CEO of the Ontario Great Lakes Goodwill Industries Michelle Quintyn says things are really starting to come along for the new Goodwill Store in Woodstock.
"We are really proud that we are about to open in March, we are creating a number of new jobs, I think upwards of 20 if you count the direct jobs and some of the impact on our systems and logistics and a fabulous new facility that is going have a really large community space for training."
Quintyn says they simply outgrew their current location in Woodstock. The new Goodwill Store will likely open in early March and they are taking over old St. Rita's Church on Dundas Street. She adds they are still accepting donations and are still open at their current location in Woodstock.
"And now more than ever we need those donations because we are going to have a much bigger footprint in the new location and we are going to have to chalk it full of donors from the community and we are going to need that support that's always been there to continue, because that is why we expanded because the Woodstock community has always been very generous."
