The CFL championship trophy will make an appearance at an upcoming practice for the Woodstock Wolverines.
WOODSTOCK - Aspiring football players in Woodstock will get able to get up close and personal with the CFL championship trophy.
The Grey Cup is set to visit the Woodstock Wolverines Youth Football Program at Cowan Sportsplex on Monday May 26th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Executive Officer Joe Brown explains how this came about.
"A parent of ours has some connections with the CFL and they asked me the other night if we'd like to have the Grey Cup visit the team. I thought it was a great idea and a great way to promote our program!"
Brown says they have three divisions with ages ranging from 7 to 14 and all of them will be there for this special surprise.
He's also inviting family members and other football fans to stop by.
"Come on out, learn about local football and maybe get your picture taken with the Grey Cup!"
