Habitat for Humanity is making its way through Oxford County. Their next stop is Tillsonburg. The Oxford, Middlesex, Elgin branch made a presentation at the town's council meeting. Habitat CEO Jeff Duncan says they hope to have a build started in Tillsonburg in 2013. He says he hopes to build a ReStore the following year. "[A ReStore] is a place where people can go. They'll know Habitat is here to stay. The idea of that is that we will also be able to take some of those funds from the ReStore and help build houses too, so some of that money will go towards house construction," said Duncan. The town's Mayor John Lessif is delighted that they chose Tillsonburg. "I look at this program as a step for some people to take the next step from not having affordable or proper housing. This gives them the opportunity to have that," said Lessif. Habitat recognized Tillsonburg as a place of interest after expanding to include Oxford earlier this year. A ReStore is about to open in Woodstock on Parkinson, while a build is expected to start in the near future.
