Ethan was recently diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma leukaemia and is currently in remission.
Ethan can't attend school right now because he is immunocompromised and can't see any of his friends. His nana Bridgette Homenuik says he was diagnosed last year and hasn't been able to play his favourite sport hockey ever since.
"He was in the ICU for the first 3 weeks, his blood count was really bad, since then his journey to the hospital has been aggressive treatment. His treatment plan is for 2 years, so far he's being doing a good job of tolerating it, he has good days and bad days. He was a good hockey player since he was little and that came to a halt last year. He's not able to attend school either, he is in remission, meaning no new cells. He has a long treatment ahead of him, he's not half way through yet."
All he wanted from for his birthday was some cards and well wishes and he was able to get those in droves.
Happy Birthday Ethan from all of us at Heart FM.
